Welcome to the Guild of Freemen Lodge 3525

A City of London Lodge, in the very heart of the City

If you live, work in, or regularly visit London and are curious about Freemasonry, the Guild of Freemen Lodge No. 3525 offers something truly distinctive. We are proud to meet at Wax Chandlers’ Hall, placing a City of London Lodge in the heart of the city itself, surrounded by centuries of history, tradition, and civic life.

A Lodge Like No Other

The Guild of Freemen Lodge is unique. We are the only Craft Lodge that requires new members to be Freemen of the City of London. Not yet a Freeman? Don’t worry, suitable candidates are fully supported and guided through the process. Becoming a Freeman is an honour steeped in history, dating back to the Charter granted by William the Conqueror, and it remains a title of genuine civic pride today.

Tradition, Friendship, and Purpose

Consecrated in 1911, the Lodge was originally formed exclusively for members of the Guild of Freemen of the City of London. While membership requirements have evolved, our close links with the Guild remain strong. We are actively rebuilding and extending those connections across the City and its associations.

Today, the Lodge enjoys a reputation for excellent ceremonial work, warm fellowship, and strong charitable commitment, both within and beyond Freemasonry.

Who We Welcome

We welcome decent and trustworthy men who wish to become Freemasons and take part in a worldwide fraternity built on friendship, integrity, and mutual respect.

  • Open to men aged 21 and over
  • In certain circumstances, men aged 18+ may be considered
  • No prior Masonic connections required

Freemasonry fits around your life. You give only the time and effort you choose. Family, work, and personal commitments always come first.

A Worldwide Brotherhood

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.

  • Over 250,000 Freemasons under the United Grand Lodge of England
  • Around six million members worldwide

Yet within that global fraternity, our Lodge remains friendly, personal, and close-knit.

When We Meet

We meet just four times a year, making membership easy to plan around even the busiest diary:

  • Third Tuesday in January
  • Fourth Tuesday in April
  • Fourth Tuesday in September
  • First Tuesday in November

The dates repeat annually, so you can plan years ahead with confidence.
